My Story

In the fall of 2014, I was a professional blogger while homeschooling four children under the age of eight. I had been suffering from postpartum depression and anxiety after the birth of my fourth child, and struggled with finding time for self care. 

A fellow blogging friend reached out to me to share about a new business she had joined--PaperPie (formerly Usborne Books & More). Being a homeschooling mama, I had heard of the books--we used them on a regular basis to supplement our lessons. I had no idea that it was more than a publishing company, but also a direct sales opportunity. My friend suggested that I join her team because she knew that I had a passion for books. I told her no. I was not a sales person. I am an introvert. No way, no how. 

A month or so later, my friend approached me again because of a special on the starter kits. I mulled it over and decided to become a PaperPie Brand Partner, mostly to purchase the books at a lower rate for our personal use. 

I had zero plans of building a business when I purchased that kit, but God had other plans for me. Three months after I began, I promoted to leadership. Thirteen months after I began, I was in the top ranks of the company with a team of over 1000 members. 

I have now been with the company for ten years and there have been over 21,000 additions to my downline in that time. Our whole world changed from one, small decision. 

I now have six children, from ages 5-18. We still homeschool, but now I work this business at a career level. It has impacted my family in all facets from finances to friendships. I get to share about something that I adore--books--with families all across the country. I get to lead and coach motivated women to reach for their own goals and success. I get to learn from other top leaders and our Home Office. It is so fulfilling.
